Tactical Athlete Strength

The primary emphasis of the Tactical Athlete Strength training cycle is to improve operational longevity and confidence by building strength and resilience in both skeletal muscle and connective tissues. It’s secondary emphasis is to improve mobility and robustness in key joints whilst practising proper movement mechanics in order to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal injury.

This is the programme to train year round for any athlete who wants to; constantly and consistently improve all aspects of their performance, all while improving movement mechanics and reducing their risk of injury. This continual growth will give you the confidence to perform in any scenario in the knowledge that you are always as prepared as you can be.

This cycle has between 5 and 6 days per week and has a strength bias (approximately a 60/40 split of strength to conditioning bias sessions respectively) but includes enough conditioning work to still improve (or at the very least maintain) your current stamina.

If you are preparing for a career course or an arduous training course such as the Commando Course, P-Company, OAC, Patrols/Recce Cadre, Sniper Course, Recce Commanders or courses of similar nature we recommend training our Tactical Athlete Conditioning training cycle.

If you are preparing for a UKSF Briefing Course or UKSF Selection we recommend training our UKSF Aptitude training cycle.

Primary:
Increase relative and absolute strength specific to tactical athletes
Maintain or increase aerobic capacity
Increase anaerobic power

Secondary:
Development of mental fortitude
Increase strength endurance
Injury mitigation

Tertiary:
Decrease recovery time
Improve body composition

The programme cycles well and the Metcon session keep it fresh and interesting

August 2, 2018

I would and have recommended the training to others. The programme uses exercises and workouts that produce maximum training effects. Within the 1st cycle of the programme I felt healthier and noticed improvement in strength and run times. The programme cycles well and the Metcon session keep it fresh and interesting unlike other programmes that use the same work out week in week out.

My conditioning has improved loads as well.

August 2, 2018

Yes, the biggest increases in size and strength I’ve achieved with any plan I’ve done in the past. My conditioning has improved loads as well.

I’d still recommend it to anyone as it’s a very effective, beneficial and fun program

August 2, 2018

I didn’t use the Tactical Athlete Strength programme in preparation for anything, just general phys, but I’d still recommend it to anyone as it’s a very effective, beneficial and fun program.

This is grade A!

August 2, 2018

This is grade A! Whereas the MOD recommended programmes look simple and work to provide a baseline, your programmes provide a lot more legitimate, specialised fitness advice for those who want to push it further all coming from operators who can use their experience to help the new generation come through. The new wave of tactical fitness has been catalysed by Stoic and it good to see the militaries on both side of the Atlantic playing catch up. Best of luck for the future gents.
